The new club South East Wisconsin Enduro Riders aka (SEWER) put on their first closed course Enduro this past Sunday. This was the first year WI has had this type of Enduro format. The club did a outstanding job laying out the course with the land they had available. With scorching heat the day before the race looked as if it was going to be a hot race, but the temps cooled down for Sunday and it was only in the mid 70's which wasn't bad. Since the trail was mostly existing I oped for minute one. I usually don't want to be that early, but all the trail was either old or burnt in really well. With taking minute one there would be no dust or lapers to deal with each lap so I could just concentrate on putting in fast laps. My first lap was my slowest of the day because I made little mistakes in a couple of spots, but nothing major. My next few laps I was getting more into my groove and starting to flow. My last three laps I focused on beating my previous lap times. I broke into the 8 minute laps, which was the fastest of the day. The last lap I was 12 sec from dropping 7 points. I had a good ride and ended up overalling the event for the day. I would like to thank my wife, dad, and all my sponsors for all the support they give me. I would also like to thank the club and CMJ for letting us race on their property.
