My
dad and I loaded up and decided to head down to the enduro early. The week
before the scheduled National Enduro, Northern Texas was hit with over 10
inches of rain. This excessive amount of rain caused flooding in local areas
and due to this unfortunate condition the enduro was cancelled. It wasn’t a
complete loss for us because I was able to get in some great seat time in
Oklahoma.

Round #2 National Enduro - Pelion, SC
March 1, 2015
It was a short week in South Carolina
for round two of the National Enduros. We left late afternoon Thursday and
drove through the night so we could make it to HRD riding area in the morning.
When we got there we tested a new bike setup. Everything we did worked really
well and I was very excited with how my bike worked. I spent the remainder of
the day riding and finished by washing and prepping my bike for the race.
Friday and Saturday the weather was
very nice- a far cry from the negative temperatures back home. When I went to
bed Saturday night the rain started. It lasted all night and into the early
morning. We were fortunate that the rain held off for the entire race, but the
temperatures were chilly (low 40s). For the amount of rain throughout the night
the course was actually pretty good. Don’t get me wrong there were some slick spots
but the overall conditions weren’t that bad- the sandy soil helped.
I had a really fun and exciting day
with no major problems. The bike setup definitely hit the mark and minute 18
worked for me. I finished 15th in Expert AA and 43rd
overall with over 500 riders. Now I just need some more seat time to improve my results. I’m hoping
the temperatures back home will warm up (and the snow will melt) so I can ride.
I look forward to round #3.
I'd like to thank all my sponsors for all they do and my dad for helping out for the weekend.

Round #1 National Enduro- Sumter, SC
February 1, 2015
It was nice to be able to get away from winter and the frozen ground for ten days and enjoy some warmer weather and my dirtbike. We packed the van and our little trailer and headed for South Carolina. Our destination was Travelers Rest. We are fortunate to be able to have a place to stay and ride there. We arrived Saturday mid-morning and when we got to the farm it was wet because of all the rain they got on Friday. We drove up to the bunk house and established our sleeping arrangements and hung out the rest of the day. I was really tired from the drive and decided to rest and get ready for riding at HRD in the morning.
The week was filled with riding at HRD, Randy Hawkin's farm and a riding area in North Carolina. During that week I checked my suspension and learned how to adapt back to a 2-stroke. I’ve been on a 4-stroke for the last five years, but am excited about switching back.

Race day started off with excitement and anticipation
about the season. I was looking forward to racing at the National Enduros and
being on my bike again. It has been four months since I had any seat time due to
my arm injury and living in the great state of WI doesn’t allow for much riding
during winter.
During the first test I battled with some arm pump and questioned
my bike setup. I wasn’t sure if my arm pump was due to my bike or if I was just
riding tight. We decided to leave the bike alone for test two and during that
section I determined that some adjustments needed to be made. After those adjustments
my time improved and my bike was working great. I felt better throughout the
remainder of the race and had fun. I finished 17th in Expert AA and
41st out of 825 riders. I definitely know what I have to do to
improve my results and I look forward to round #2.
I'd like to thank all my sponsors and my father for being my pit crew at the race.
