Family fun at the race!

Conditions were perfect in Alabama for this race! Weather was warm and course was fun. The race consisted of rocky uphills, tight woods, and flowing trail. I had a lot of fun and finished 2nd in +30A and 37th overall.

Ava Maria Grotto

On our way down to the AL National Enduro we stopped in Cullman, AL for a little sight seeing. The Ave Maria Grotto is a landscaped 4-acre park in an old quarry (on the grounds of St. Bernard Abbey) exhibiting 125 miniature reproductions of some of the most famous religious structures of the world. It was neat to see all the detail that was put into each statue.

NEPG Round #8 National Enduro 2017

October 15, 2017 - Round #8 - Sand Springs, OK

It was exciting going back to my childhood home state to race for the first time. The locals said they received a lot of rain during the week leading up to the race. They were worried that predicted rain Saturday night would make for a muddy event, but light showers early in the morning were no problem for the course. This weather made the event's conditions almost perfect for this area. The course consisted of rocks, tight woods, and open flowing trail. I had a great race and finished 1st in +30A and 36th overall.

NEPG Round #6 National Enduro 2017

August 20, 2017 - Round #6 - Matthews, IN

Another trip to the covered bridge in Matthews Indian for round 6 of the National Enduro series.
Sunday was going to be a hot and humid day of racing as the forecast was calling for warm temps.
As Sunday rolled around it was a nice sunny day. When the clock clicked to 9:18 I hit the gas and was off for our first test of six. The first test went alright I was trying to get into a good flow but just was struggling a little. Test two ended up being a bad test for me as I had a pretty hard crash and lost some time getting my bike untangled from a vine when I went down trying to push to make some time back. After that I just tried to regroup and get back into a good flow and try and ride smart and finish the day out with no more mistakes. The temps rose late morning and it was a very hot and humid day. At the end of the day I came home with a 5th place finish. I am not happy with my results but that's what the day gave to me and I will take what I learned and work on what I need to do to get back to winning races like I started out the season doing. I would like to thank my whole family for all their hard work at the races and especially a big thanks to all my sponsors.

2017 District 16 Harescramble/Enduro - Roselawn, IN

This past weekend we had a double header in Roselawn Indiana. Saturday was a double points paying day as it paid Harescramble and Enduro points. Sunday was just a points paying Enduro. Saturday had a little different format as all the AA guys were split up into three different waves and were started 30 seconds in between each wave. I was on the first row. When the flag dropped I was second into the corner but the guy in front of me fell over and when I got around him I was in forth. I was able to pick off everyone but the leader as he was able to get a little bit of a gap on me as the course was super tight and I had to wait a long time to get passes made on the other guys in front of me. We had two more laps to do on the 11 mile course and we could do those laps whenever we wanted to (as long as we got three laps in by 5 o'clock). At the end of the day I missed second place by 10 seconds.  On Sunday I was having a pretty good day until test 3 when I tagged a tree with my bark buster and ended up falling off into a small ditch and lost a minute getting myself back up to the trail and going.  Just as I was getting going another rider in my class that was a minute behind me caught me. I was able to pull away from him but with all that time lost my day was over to be in contention for the win. I never stopped trying to ride hard and see what could happen. As you never know what could happen because it is racing. At the end of the day that time hurt me bad and I ended the day in 8th. I had a lot of fun but not the results I was looking for. I need to keep my head up and come into the next one ready and mistake free and I will be up where I belong. Like to thank my family and all my sponsors for all their support this year.

2017 District 16 Harescramble - Hixton

My Dad and I made the trip to the western part of the state to the small town of Hixton where CMJ Raceway is located. We got there late Friday afternoon and I was thinking it was going to be really muddy as we drove through a couple hard rain storms on the way there. Most of those storms must have missed them as it was not to bad at all. We got settled in and called it a night. When morning came I jumped on my mountain bike and prerode the course. The only thing that was really bad far as mud was the moto track, but we had all day for it to dry out. With only having one event there this weekend Chris the owner was able to lay out a longer course than normal and use a lot of trail we haven't used in years. I was really excited to get race day here after seeing the course.

When race day came around I was ready and really excited to get the day going. When the gun shot went off I kicked the kick-starter and the bike didn't fire so I kicked it again and was on my way in last place. I was able to get into fourth as we went into the woods and slowly get around everyone to get in to the lead. Once there I put my head down and focused on hitting all my lines and not making any mistakes. I was able to take the win with a healthy lead by the end of the day. I would like to thank my Dad for all his help this weekend and to all my sponsors for all that they do.

NEPG Round #5 National Enduro 2017

July 23, 2017 - Round #5 - Cross Forks, PA

We made the trek east to Pennsylvania once again for round 5 of the National Enduro series. With warm temps and rain in the forecast it was going to be a challenging race in the rocks. Mother nature opened up and dumped rain on us Saturday and once again in the early morning on race day. With all the rain I was surprised that the whole course wasn't that bad. I was able to ride smooth and smart and not make to many mistakes in the slippery conditions. I wanted to push more but didn't want to have a huge mistake and end my day early. I was able to have a solid day and come home with a 3rd place finish for the day. I know that is a good finish but not where I want to be so I'm going to work on some things and be back stronger for the next one. I would like to thank all my sponsors and my family for all that they do.

2017 District 16 Harescramble - Adams GP

Sunday June 25, 2017 - Adams, WI

This past weekend was a great one! I got to spend my birthday with my family and friends and racing my dirt bike. The Madison Motorcycle Club put on their first G.P. in Adams, WI. It was also my first time racing a GP as well. I signed up for two classes (my normal AA class and for more seat time 30+) and raced two 30 min motos. You couldn't have asked for better weather or track conditions on race day. The temps were cool and mother nature watered the course Saturday night making the sand moist and perfect. My Kenda tires kept me hooked up all day long to come away with two class wins and add to my points for the championship in the AA class. I would like to thank my family and friends for cheering me on all day and for their help throughout the day. Also, a big thank you to all my great sponsors for all their help. I couldn't do what I do with out all your help.

2017 District 16 Enduro - Marquette, MI

Saturday June 10, 2017

I am always excited to go up to Marquette, MI for the Loose Moose Enduro because it is one of my favorite races. The terrain has a little bit of everything up there and if there is moisture in the soil it is awesome! Saturday rolled around and I was ready to get the day started. I knew it was going to be a tough day to grab the overall, because there was some tough competition there, but I was ready for the challenge. The temps were hot but luckily there was a strong breeze and that helped. The club put on a real old school tough enduro. A combination of long tests and hot weather definitely wore riders out after each test. After the first five tests I didn't know how I was doing as far as placement, but I knew I had to have a mistake free ride through the last test (known as the mountain). I told myself to push where I could and use my head to be steady when it got tough. I had a great ride through there and ended up beating my main competition by two minutes in that test. At the end of the race I came up just a little short for the overall win - I missed the overall by only 38 seconds. On this tough and hot 65+ mile course I came home 1st in AA and 2nd Overall. I rode really well today and Tyler and I had almost 4 minutes on third place. It's not how you finish it's what you take away from your results and apply to the next race that gets you the results you want. Now I am more motivated and plan on working hard to get back up on the top step at the next race. I would like to thank my entire family: my wife, son, mom and dad for all that they do chasing me around the hot and dusty races. I couldn't do it without you! I would also like to thank all my great sponsors because without you I wouldn't be able to do it either.

NEPG Round #4 National Enduro 2017

June 4, 2017 - Greensboro, GA

Round 4 of the National Enduro brought us to Greensboro, GA. The weekend looked like it was going to be a hot one with possible rain in the forecast. We got there some time Friday afternoon, we got checked into our hotel and got settled in for the weekend. Saturday we headed out to the club grounds where the start would be to get signed up and to visit with our racing family. Sunday rolled around and I was ready to get the day going. The trail looked like it was going to be perfect; they had gotten rain a couple of days prior and that made the dirt prime. The first four tests conditions were great for me, but as we lined up for test 5 it started to drizzle. It didn't make conditions slick until we got to the start of test 6. Test 6 got to be a little slick in spots but not to bad considering we were riding on clay. For the most part I had a good day. I was able to come home with first in my class and 31st overall. I am happy with my results but I know I can get better overall results so I have a few thing I am going to try and work on and hopefully try and get closer to the top 20 at the next round. I would like to thank everyone who helps me: my family for all their support before, during, and after my races and also to all my great sponsors because without you it would be a lot harder for me to chase my dreams.
